Michael A. Robinson: The Immanent Assemblage, 2003 - exhibition view

Sweet Dreams was the name given to an exhibition of work presented in the context of a larger exhibition titled Avancer dans le brouillard at the Quebec National Museum of Art.  In one installation we witness the convalescence of fictive artist.  Clues sifted from the different works in the exhibition, (including a video featuring myself as the artist) indicate a certain 'psychological malaise'.  Books and magazines on the night table linked the chronic illness to aesthetic discourse and to psychological disturbances of a creative nature.  The spectator was left to piece together the elements of a loose but disturbing narrative.
