*Pastiche is the title of a sculpture which was presented at at the Leonard and Bina Ellen Gallery at Concordia University in 2005 in an exhibition titled, L’Echo des Limbes (Echoes from Limbo). The organ contains a speaker which plays the soundtrack to a related video. The soundtrack contains some of my own poetry which I recite in aggressive theatrical tone. The cacophonic sound was inspired by the Dadaist poetry projects of the 1920’s, and features the whispering recitation by John Cage. The excerpt was created by Cage using the IChing, chance operations, and the texts of Henry James Thoreau. Also in the montage we can hear a bizarre experimental organ work by György Ligeti.
