The aestheticization of exchange avec Jacques Derrida
*The aestheticization of exchange is the name of an exchange which took place in Paris with the philosopher Jacques Derrida, in 1995, as part of my Masters Degree work. Having been influenced by his theory of deconstruction and ideas concerning ‘performative actions’ I created a work which could only be completed by offering a gift to him. His gracious acceptance of my plaster cast ‘Glas¹’ panel completed the work.
